Keeping Moon Fruit's Dark Printed Jammies Vibrant

Keeping Moon Fruit's Dark Printed Jammies Vibrant

Dear Moon Fruit Crew,

I'm sure many of you know that dark prints on comfy bamboo jammies tend to fade over time. While fading to some degree may be somewhat inevitable, I want to share some tips on how you can limit this natural process.

  1. Wash with Cold Water: When it comes to washing your child's Moon Fruit jammies, opt for cold water instead of hot or warm water. Coldwater helps preserve the colors and minimizes fading. It's also gentler on the fabric, making sure that the bamboo/spandex blend remains as soft as ever.
  2. Turn Them Inside Out: Before tossing those jammies into the washing machine, turn them inside out. This simple step will protect the vibrant print from rubbing against other fabrics during the wash, reducing the likelihood of fading.
  3. Choose a Gentle Detergent: Opt for a mild and gentle detergent that is specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Harsh chemicals in regular detergents can be tough on colors, accelerating fading. Look for a baby-friendly detergent or one formulated for bright colors.
  4. Skip the Bleach: Bleach is known to be a color-fading culprit. Avoid using bleach or any products containing chlorine on your child's jammies. Instead, stick to bleach-free alternatives to keep those prints looking fresh and vivid.
  5. Wash Similar Colors Together: When doing laundry, separate dark-colored garments from light-colored ones. Washing darker prints with similar colors can prevent color bleeding, helping to maintain the vibrancy of Moon Fruit's unique designs.
  6. Limit Sun Exposure: While the spandex blend in our jammies provides excellent stretch and comfort, it's essential to be mindful of sun exposure. Direct sunlight can cause colors to fade over time, so try to keep the jammies away from prolonged periods of sun exposure.
  7. Air Dry When Possible: To further preserve the colors of Moon Fruit's dark printed jammies, consider air-drying them instead of using the dryer. High heat can be damaging to fabrics and contribute to fading. If you must use the dryer, opt for the lowest heat setting possible.
  8. Avoid Overwashing: Frequent washing can contribute to fading. Unless absolutely necessary, try to limit the number of times you wash the jammies. Encourage your little ones to wear their pajamas for a few nights in a row before tossing them in the laundry basket.
  9. Treat Stains with Care: Accidents happen, and stains may occur on the jammies. When treating stains, be gentle to avoid scrubbing too vigorously. Harsh stain removers can also affect the color, so use natural or mild stain-removal techniques.
  10. Rotate Pajamas: If your child has multiple pairs of Moon Fruit jammies, consider rotating them. This practice allows each pair to rest between wears and washes, reducing the wear and tear on the fabric and prints.

At Moon Fruit, we are committed to providing you and your little ones with the highest quality and most comfortable sleepwear possible. While natural fading is unavoidable to some extent, following these tips will help extend the life of the dark printed jammies and keep them looking vibrant for longer.
